Are you ready to meet the mother? The answer to one of TV's most burning questions was revealed on the May 13 season eight finale of How I Met Your Mother, and it is Tony nominee Cristin Milioti. The former Once star is joining the cast of the CBS series as the wife of protagonist Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor). Milioti, known as "The Girl with the Yellow Umbrella," will be a prominent part of the final season of the series.
In addition to her starring role as Girl in the Tony-winning musical Once, Milioti also appeared on Broadway in The Lieutenant of Inishmore and Coram Boy. Her off-Broadway credits include Some Americans Abroad, Crooked, The Little Foxes, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter and The Devil’s Disciple. On screen she has been seen in The Sopranos, 30 Rock, The Good Wife, Nurse Jackie, Year of the Carnivore, Sleepwalk With Me and the upcoming Martin Scorsese film The Wolf of Wall Street.
Set in New York City, How I Met Your Mother follows Ted Mosby's quest for his soul mate. Told in flashback to his growing children, Ted recalls the eight season odyssey that eventually led him to meet and marry their mother (Milioti). The series co-stars Tony host and Broadway vet Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Segel, Alyson Hannigan and Cobie Smulders.
